A group of talented musicians who participate in an experiment of musical expression as a way of life. A mixture of Andean Styles fuse together in a beautiful blend.
Artist history:
Ernesto Pomareda a Peruvian American composer, He has recorded the music for the BBC's Columbus and the Age of Discovery documentary series on PBS, and the Soundtrack released by Narada Recordings. Ernesto has played for Earth Day celebrations broadcast worldwide by MTV, as well as having performed at various universities around the United States. He has recorded for the World Health Organization, and performed at the United Nations. On several occasions, Ernesto has hosted Amnesty International's gala presentations in Boston, MA. In Addition to being the founder of Condor, he has been the recipient of numerous awards and grants, such as for the production of Taki Ongoy by the Portland Metropolitan Arts Commission and several performance seasons by the Young Audiences organization. Besides composing and arranging music, Ernesto plays guitar, bass, charango, mandolin, quena, antara, and synthesizers. Now as founder and director of The Friends of the Andes Ernesto embarks on another great adventure of musical experimentation. The sounds of the world and and their ethnic colors is the pallette that I will use and The Friends of the Andes will be it's canvas. Says Ernesto enthusiastically as he describes what he is doing musically today.
