Hi, I'm Chris Gicky :)

I spin records and have been since 1998. I play all styles of danceable music, with the exception of hip-hop. Lately it's been Drum & Bass mashed with Happy Hardcore. I call it Happy Hardstep, and all the cool kids dig it.. heh.. In late '98/early '99 I graduated from regular party kid to a budding torch carrier by promoting and DJ'ing for the disintegrated Eternal Productions crew and promotor for the nightclub Space. (R.I.P. Bruno 88) I have worked with countless event organizers, promotors, DJ's and producers since then. I have no idea how many parties I've performed at, or how many I've gone to, but I do know one thing.. There will be more, I'm not stopping anytime soon.

 

I contribute to the scene because it is one of the few things that make me genuinely happy. I do this work for the music and the scene. I feel like somehow, my efforts and motives are transferrered to the crowds at the events I'm at, and people have a great time.. That probably sounds weird, but I just kinda get that feeling.. It's probably all in my head.. One of my goals in all this is to introduce new faces to the experience of this scene. I've seen so many new faces at every event that goes on, it really seems to me like our little subculture is going through a revival. My intentions are do bring the music and the culture to a new generation of party kids.
