Noosphere began in 1995 under the name Fuel. The band consisted of drummer, Brian Crosby, singer/guitarist, Marc Snyder, and bassist, Morgan Phillips. That year the band grew to know each other as friends and started the learning process of the music business, playing shows, meeting people, and acquiring a fanbase.
In 1996, the group had played numerous shows and decided it was time to put together a collection of their songs and place them on tape. They recorded at a studio in New Jersey named, ‘’The Lab’’, and had planned to release the demo the following January, but they had found out that the name Fuel had already been taken. This realization made the group rethink their strategy. They took some time off, wrote new songs, and played some shows. Then in 1997, the band came back under the name ‘’Noosphere’’. Confident about their songs and the name they chose, they started playing more shows and continued to write more songs.
Towards the end of 1998, they had gained an even larger fanbase than before but felt that they were lacking something that would really complete the band as a whole. The band had a lot of energy and wrote good songs, but something was missing. That something was Steve Heywood. Steve brought more excitement and enthusiasm to the music and the band. Finally, Noosphere was complete.
Their first show that would introduce the new group was in May 1999. Morgan had gotten a phone call telling him that the band was recommended to play a battle of the bands at ‘‘Club Space’’ in Philadelphia. They accepted the offer and played the show. Noosphere won first place out of 20 other bands and 16 hours of recording time at ‘’Millennium Studios’’ in center city Philadelphia. They recorded an EP in August and are in the process of completing the album design work. The band has been busy lately, building a strong fanbase, organizing shows, trademarking and copywriting their material, developing new songs, and creating the final product of their first album.
