“Gypsy Journey” is a manifestation of my mission: to inspire people to experience peace and passionate aliveness. The music on this CD made its presence first known in the summer of 2001. I had just returned to New Mexico after having been in Michigan for three months with my family while my father was undergoing aggressive chemotherapy treatment for cancer. The experience changed my life. I realized I had been waiting to live my dreams as if I had all the time in the world. I began to contemplate what was important to me and began to answer the question “What do I want to do with my life?”
I have always loved open tunings and stumbled across one I had never heard of in an article in Guitar Player Magazine. After reading the article, I immediately retuned my early ‘60’s B-25 Gibson Acoustic Guitar and the journey of the Gypsy began. I didn’t even know any chords for this tuning, but the first thing to come out was “Wanderlust”. This song came out whole and complete in one sitting. It was unlike any song I had ever written. More songs were to follow and quickly.
As a Massage Therapist at the time, I thought the music would make a great CD for massage or relaxation. However, I doubted whether it was “good enough” to record and doubted whether other people would want to hear it. I have been playing in this tuning for three years now, and after so many “when are you going to record your cd?” from the ex-husband, I decided to finally do it.
So, here it is “Gypsy Journey” Instrumental Music to Relax the Mind and Soothe the Soul. Enjoy~
