THE ORIGIN - The Suburban Supergroup originated from a laboratory experiment gone wrong at a behavioral pharmacology research institute called Funk Pharmaceuticals in March 1999. All members, which include Christopher DeManss on Guitar & Vocals, Paul Rudolf on Bass and the Savant of Beat Cesare Cowan on Drums live just outside Baltimore Maryland in either Baltimore or Anne Arundel County and have been playing professionally for many years.
THE SOUND - Experimental Suburban Funk
(Silly swingin` glutinously badass bass, booty gettin` buzz saw guitar, double barrel blasting drums and an overall assault on rhythm never heard before).
THE REACTION - The Suburban Supergroup has built a strong fan base stretching throughout the Mid Atlantic with a concentration in the state of Maryland. Unsung Hero Magazine and Maryland Music Monthly`s Tommy Mullins have both regarded The Suburban Supergroup as one of the best regional live acts in their January 2002 issues. “This music is quite infectious;” hailed Laurin Wollen of Md. Music Monthly in the review of the SSG`s first E.P. 98Rock`s Matt Davis has aired the songs “Chic” and “Dirty Underwear” since summer 2001. Unsung Hero Magazine interviewed them in the January 2002 issue and showcased them numerously in 2001. The Suburban Supergroup has been selected to showcase at several music conferences including the Philly MC 2001 and the Millennium MC 2002. They have also gained placement on several regional music compilations.
THE FOCUS - The Suburban Supergroup is insistent on transcendence through ridiculousness but also upon restoring the faith in a less contradictory mass of definition frenzied and unbridled consumption based beings. In a nut shell, if mankind is really some viral, parasitic, planet hopping, psychologically totalitarianistic group of fear employing egomaniacs then, The Suburban Supergroup is part of a force concentrated on changing that and hence morphing the reputation of mankind in the Universal Consciousness.
