Biography
Up until a couple of years ago I was lead singer/guitarist/songwriter in Truro based band Blackout. We enjoyed a healthy amount of success within the region, playing over two-hundred gigs in Cornwall, winning the Pirate FM battle of the bands, (the prize was an interview and airplay on the station). We were chosen to represent Cornwall in the undiscovered originals battle of the bands competition, in the national finals, (losing to a band from Plymouth in the end!), and we also won the opportunity to support rock legends status quo, which was brilliant fun, if a little nerve racking. We had a management deal, (a company in Los Angeles), and according to them at the time many record labels were clamouring for our signatures, but in the end nothing materialised and we became disillusioned and parted ways. Since then I have been writing and recording music at home, and hopefully I am becoming better at it the more I do it. If you like anything you hear please feel free to contact me. Leave a message, a comment, an insult, whatever. More music can be found at: www.myspace.com/waggstar. Thank you for listening, and for reading all the way to the end of this piece. Dean. x
